Certification

The number of SHRM-CP (Certified Professional) or SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) HR Professionals is continuing to grow.  Questions to ask yourself:  If you have not taken the step to become certified, what are you waiting for?  Could becoming certified boost your career?

NASHRM hosts a study group twice a year in advance of each of the two annual testing windows (beginning mid-September, for Winter Exams, and beginning mid-February for Summer Exams).  Study groups meet one evening a week for 8 weeks.

Study Groups use the SHRM Learning System® - which is available for purchase at the discounted NASHRM Chapter rate at the time of registration for the study group.

Announcements for the Study Group will be made to NASHRM members via e-mail, and will be listed on the “Meetings and Events” link on the NASHRM website at www.nashrm.org.

NOTE:  The Study Group session are not be teach subject matter, but to help individuals become test ready by providing test format, review and practice.

For HR Professionals who already have their Certification:

  • To recertify, you will need to earn 60 professional development credits (PDCs) every three years, or retake the certification exam.

  • There are numerous ways to earn PDCs, from attending NASHRM sponsored programs, conferences and seminars to volunteering and contributing resources to the advancement of the HR profession through work projects/products.

  • SHRM has information on ways to earn recertification credits on their website at: https://www.shrm.org/certification/recertify/Pages/default.aspx
